I’m proud to say that building and selling quality furniture is paramount in my life. Next to my wife, Janet and my children I get an enormous buzz from providing sofa’s which are British, handcrafted and stylish.
It all comes from my years of study in qualifying as a time served upholsterer. The experience of constructing distinctive seating captured my imagination in a way I would never have imagined. As a result, the nights of toil in study were periods of great satisfaction for me.
The by product for my customers is a passion to build the best sofa’s and to address solutions of size, depth and appearance which the many Delcor clients require.
My wife, Janet is testament to my furnishing fixation and I have the utmost respect for a woman who lives and works with that fanaticism 24 hours a day. She’s definitely the woman behind the man and with 10 years experience in the industry she aids me in making sure my business decisions are right.
I’ve even penned the word Delcorian’s to describe our wonderful customers who are the rock on which this business is founded. They’ve been returning to us since the company’s inception in 1967 so we must be doing something right and many of them have become friends.
My philosophy for the business may sound trite but it’s the truth. Make furniture which is quality and at the right price and you can’t go wrong.
1967 is a dim distant memory for me but Delcor was formed in a year which saw some interesting and momentous events. The first heart transplant took place, the Beatles released their iconic Sgt Pepper album and the QE2 was launched in that year, Who knows, the day may soon be here when Delcor is whispered in the same tones as those events. If I have my way it will be!
