An innovative and exciting new project has been born from collaboration between a design agency, a textile company, Transport for London (TfL) and Delcor Furniture.

‘Underground Volume II’ revisits a previous and very distinct collection of upholstery velvets, derived from original, iconic designs, used across the London Underground network, from the 1930s onward.

Kirby Design has reinterpreted and recoloured 7 archive TfL designs, representative of individual and very recognisable underground lines and produced the eye-catching geometric designs, used in the production of luxurious upholstery by Romo Fabrics.

Delcor has stepped in to showcase the designs to their best advantage, upholstering some of their own iconic sofas, chairs and soft furnishings with the avant-garde fabrics.

The second in the progressive series, Underground Volume 2, brings heritage to the fore and a unique spin on London’s familiar lines, namely: Metroplitan, Northern, Hammersmith, Pullman Central, Bakerloo and Piccadilly.

The designs are currently being showcased in Delcor’s Kings Road showroom.
